Over time your hood fan filters become caked with grease, dust and other particles that splash out from your pan while cooking. Cooking home cooked meals is a definite benefit, however cleaning your range hood filter can be on the opposite end of the tasty spectrum.

Cleaning these filters are an important part of your household chores, due to their ability to harbor harmful bacteria. Thankfully utilizing our techniques makes cleaning these filters a breeze.

To complete this chore, you will need the following supplies:

  1. A roll of paper towel.
  2. A bottle of 70% alcohol.

Start by removing the filters from the hood fan. Next, soak a few layers of paper towel with the alcohol, and dab on the heavily soiled areas of the filter. You should see the grease begin to melt away. Use another piece paper towel to wipe off the excess debris. After a couple rounds, you will be left with shiny, clean filters.
