Scratching your windows is one of the worst outcomes that can be derived from an aggressive cleaning. At first scratched glass may seem impossible to remedy, but with the help of these three tips, you can tackle those scratches easily and economically!

cleaning tips

Metal Polish

Metal polish works well on surface scratches. First clean and dry the area with a paper towel. Avoid using rough or dirty rags to clean any piece of glass, so as not to make the scratches worse, or add new ones. After cleaning the area, dab a small amount of metal polish on a clean microfiber cloth and rub gently in a circular motion on the scratched area. If the scratches are not deep, they should become less visible or disappear.

Nail Polish

This technique is one of our favorites at Lavpro Estrie. Use a paper towel to clean the glass and dry the scratched area sufficiently. Then gently apply a thin coat of clear nail polish over the scratched area and leave it to dry. Once the polish has dried, dab a soft fabric cloth with nail polish remover and remove the excess polish by softly rubbing the area in a circular motion.

Toothpaste

The use of toothpaste to remove glass scratches is the easiest and most economical method. Clean the scratched areas and leave it to dry. Then using a white non-gel toothpaste, apply to a piece of soft cloth. Rub the toothpaste on the scratched area in circular motions for around 30 seconds. Then wipe any excess toothpaste and check the glass, the scratches should start to disappear.
